Daniel Gallant
I chose Daniel Gallants World Graffiti Photo Series. His belief is "Some of the most colorful and revealing artwork is not in galleries." Using his photographs as proof I believe in his statement 100%. I loved the graffiti he chose to shoot, the drawings he chose as absolute artistic flare which compliments his style as an artist. What attracted me the most is how Gallant has a very up close angle as if he painted the photo instead of photographing.
Below is a link where you can view his personal gallery, my favorite pictures include photos one, seven, twelve, forty-eight,eight-teen, twenty-four, and thirty.

FAVE Picture!
I searched far and wide throughout the entire Barnes & Nobles for this book. Modelland is written by one of my favorite celebrities Tyra Banks. When I recieve my next paycheck I plan to buy this novel and devote an entire saturday to read it! When taking this picture I actually tiltled my camera in a downward position. the lighting is coming from the left side due to large windows.

Surrealist Photo Montage
I am really proud of my Surreal Photo Montage. I've come a long way, and I really tried my best to get creative and truly represent myself. As you can see I hold my world/destiny in the palm of my hands. I choose what to do with my world along with what and who I allow in it. I layered my thoughts in writing to aid the replication of me. To get inside my mind is the impossible, however reading my thoughts on the picture might give you an idea.

Theme & Ideas for Surrealistic Photo Montage
My plans for my surrealistic photo montage includes the following: I would like to create a picture that relfects everything I day-dream about. I would like to include a picture of my palms holding clouds, the beach, jewerly, clothes, shoes, make-up, nail polish, music, school, technology, and my future endeavors. I want to incorporate a lot of pink in the picture as my color scheme. I would also like for all of those things to be placed into an earth to represent my world and to show some things that describe me.

Surrealistic Photo Montage Project
Leonora Carrington
Ms. Carrington was an artist, sculptor and writer. She was born in England in 1917. In her younger days, Carrington came into contact with surrealism through her lover Max Ernst. They moved together and lived together in France where Ms. Leonor took part in Surrealist activities. Carrington’s first major art exhibit came in 1947 at the Pierre Matisse Gallery in Manhattan. Fans view her works of art as “dream-like” images. Sadly, Carrington recently died in Mexico City on May 26, 2011. Leonora Carrington was one of the last original surrealists.
Otto Umbehr
Otto Umbehr was a free-spirited bohemian and self-taught photographer. He studied at Weimar Bauhaus in 1921 before he moved to Berlin two years later. In Berlin he worked as a portrait photographer and a photojournalist. He undoubtedly had an untraditional approach when helping a “new vision” along with other artists during his era. An interesting fact about” Umbo” (an alias which he is referred to by) was that he actually served in the German army during World War II. During that time period he actually lost all of his prints and negatives because his studio was destroyed.
Title: Mystery of the Street
Date: 1928
Description: The daily life in the streets of Germany in the aftermath of World War 11. This photographer also uses bird’s eye view technique to make the most of his art piece.
Analysis: This photo is asymmetrical and doesn’t have much noise nor is it too crowded or busy to distract me.
Interpretation: I feel as though he uses shadows to take our thoughts elsewhere. Him using black and white color scheme as entails us to believe that life had become increasingly simple and there wasn’t much to enjoy.
Judgment: I believe Umbo create just what his eye had envisioned. His angling was simply remarkable and I was intrigued for longer that probably intended. Interpretation: I feel as though he uses shadows to take our thoughts elsewhere. Him using black and white color scheme as entails us to believe that life had become increasingly simple and there wasn’t much to enjoy.
Artist’s Name: Leonora Carrington
Title: The Pomps of the Subsoil
Date: 1947
Description: This painting was completed on an oil canvas. Three ghost like figures surrounding a blanket in open land with animals all around.
Analysis: In this painting her main focal point would have to be the three characters in the bold coloured dresses/drapes. Her colour palette consists of darker colours to create this mood and vibe that the painting gives off.
Interpretation: I believe Leonora Carrington was trying to create a dream like image based on a picnic almost. With the animals in tow, sitting in a grassy open plain like area. I think the human like characters are not real people but figments in her imagination.
Judgment: In my belief Carrington created a fairytale like painting. There isn’t a care in their world and I appreciate her artistic views .
These two artists differ incredibly. Otto Umbehr perched himself to an indescribable view. Taking this real life photo is totally different when compared to Carrington’s imaginative painting masterpiece. It is obvious that both artists are creative and possess originality. I am well-pleased with both works of art.

David Hockney Inspired Collage
Meet Laylla pronounced Layla. She's an awesome model and I had a great time shoooting her. She"s a third grader and this is her "just came from school" look. I actually ran to her as soon as she got off the bus and asked her to pose! She dropped her backpack and we used natural sunlight to create this masterpiece. I"m very pleased with my results.
When creating this Hockney piece I wanted a collage that looked strikenly different from everyone esles. So I waited till the sun went down to really put my photographing skills to the test. I set my camera to night mode and began taking pictures of my front lawn persay at NIGHT. I beleve I created a realistic replica.

Portrait Series

I chose my own mother to participate in my Portriat Series. I present to you "The Many Faces of Nyya." When taking the pictures I did my best to capture her many emotions in each shot. It might be hard to believe but she experience each emotion presented at least one time every day! The lighting I chose was low key with a simple background. I also chose her to be my model because as you can see she is extremely verstile. She adapted quickly to my photo set, I'm definitely proud of the result. I enjoyed taking these photos and I hope she did too!

Artistic Inspirations
I chose Mr. Barker simply because this picture takes my mind behind the gates shown.
This painting was produced from the Harlem Renaissance Era. This is a vivid depiction of an African American family. I enjoy the realism of this painting.
Graffiti is definitely in its own artistic category. Chris Keeney used the photo method "angling up" very well. Graffiti is the one of the most direct forms of self expression, I love it to pieces.
Cityscapes captures the essence of that city in the purest form in my eyes. I believe Rolf Hicker captured evening life at its finest. Also the picture quality is just amazing.
This photo is so amazing to me. I believe Anne captured infant purity and all his innocence.
