Why shoot in Black and White?

Reflecting on “Why Black and White Photography?” by Darren Rowse I now understand why this “oldie but goodie” is making a major comeback. Black and White Photography boasts many qualities take other photography styles don’t. Such as versatility, less distractions, subtlety of tones, and variety. These characteristics put this style in its own category entirely.
When looking at a Black and White photo you can’t help but to be intrigued solely on the subject and nothing else. You tend to notice precise details that you normally work overlook, such as the arch in an eyebrow or the curve in someone’s smile. In my belief black and white photography gives you the freedom to explore art and appreciating all that it has to offer. You’re now able to detect how sharp the photo is easily and focus on the background when you’ve grasped the main object.
